TapSOS: Contact Emergency Services Without Speaking

TapSOS is an iPhone application that provides a unique way to contact Emergency Services without having to speak on the phone. This makes it particularly useful for individuals with physical limitations such as Deaf, deafness, or Hard of Hearing, as well as in situations where speaking may not be possible or safe.

The app allows users to create a profile that is stored on their smartphone. This profile contains important information that is relayed to the Emergency Call Handler through a series of visual icons that can be tapped on the screen. These icons are designed to help users communicate their needs in a stressful situation.

In addition to the profile, users can also create a medical profile that is securely stored on their device. This medical profile provides valuable information to First Responders, giving them insight into the user's medical history and any specific needs they may have.

TapSOS utilizes the built-in GPS function of the device to automatically locate the user. If needed, the user can manually change the location for even greater accuracy. The app also guides users through a series of questions that help them focus, reflect, and react in a way that follows Emergency Services protocols.

Once activated, TapSOS sends alerts directly to the United Kingdom's 999 Emergency Call Handlers, ensuring that help is on the way as quickly as possible.
